Meet "TOM" a conversational chatbot who is eager to meet you through text based conversations. But how well can a conversation really work when one partner is unable to understand the other's feelings or intentions? Robots react due to technological limitations and are based on predictive programming rather than a true understanding of humans. Could such an assumption prevent people from trying to understand those they themselves might not understand? "TOM" is an interactive work of art that explores and challenges the normative allistic understanding of optimal communication and the communication skills of others.
